Field Medic

While doctors are a staple of communities and first aid is known by almost everyone, it takes a different kind of expertise and bravery to perform such redhanded work on the battlefield. Field Medics have the resilience and skill to survive the rigors of combat while reviving and healing their allies. Off the battlefield, these individuals are indispensable in their knowledge of medicine and curative powers.

Two skills are of interest to many Field Medics. The first of these is the Master of Medicine skill, which not only enhances one’s healing ability but also allows a Doctor to do one more Craft action during the month.

Somewhat easier to access is the Soothing Aspect skill (or the Inspiring Aspect skill). These skill(s) can enhance a Field Medic’s healing ability as well as defend them against some types of attacks. The Inspiring Aspect skill is similar but also allows a Field Medic the ability to buffer allies from injury.

Itemization Advice: A Field Medic’s Herb Kit and their defenses must be prioritized. Advanced Herb Kits can improve one’s healing ability, allow for the use of Chem Vials (for healing or offense), or even strange “living” devices.

Investing in defenses, on the other hand, is dependent on what a particular Field Medic uses. Those with shields may invest in stronger or more useful shields, applying similar philosophies to their armor (if they wear armor). Many Field Medics find that a simple one-handed weapon can buy some time for their protectors to appea. Some Field Medics invest their resources in a pistol instead, which can kill or repel distant enemies in the hands of a skilled shooter.
