Slinger (Warrior): increased damage and utility with Ranged attacks
The Binder and the Defiant Disciplines are the main focuses of the Field Officer’s progression, though they are far from the only ones. With the Inspiring Aspect Skill, the Binder allows an Officer to continuously invest Resolve into their allies. On the other hand, Grim Recovery and Bloodied but Unbowed are powerful tools for resilience and self-preservation.
Field Officers who lean in more toward their martial functions progress into the Defender, the Scrapper, and the Slinger Disciplines. The first two improve one’s defenses and ability to defend one’s nearby allies. Officers who delve into the Slinger Discipline do so to strike from afar and support their allies with superior firepower.
Itemization Advice: Not all Field Officers invest in a War Banner, but it is highly recommended for those with the Inspiring Aspect skill. Augments to the Banner can allow it strange and unique abilities such as inflicting Psychic damage upon enemies or warding allies against Fear. Most importantly, it confers a group with a spirit of solidarity that cannot be easily replicated.
Otherwise, Field Officers should invest in their own protection and in their Herb Kits, if they want to improve their healing ability. For the former, a good set of armor can go a long way in allowing an Officer and therefore, their unit, to survive whatever afflicts them. Field Officers on the offense will invest in ranged weapons, especially pistols or Knife Packs because these don’t require more than one hand to use.
