These individuals are scientists and gadgeteers, trying to learn about the world and improve their technology. To that end, they are expert craftsfolk, able to create wonders, craft mundane equipment, or disassemble traps. With enough resources, they are even able to make useful gadgets such as Hook Bracers.

Because of their emphasis on tech, it is best for Technologists to prioritize the skills in the Tinker Discipline, especially the Master of Devices skill. They are crafters and makers of items, most of all.
Beyond the Tinker Discipline, there are a multitude of paths to tread. Those seeking to hone their Crafting skills can seek out the Master of Weaponry and Master of Weaving skills. Scavengers can focus on the Junker and Runner Disciplines, while those that seek and value knowledge invest in the Reader and Scholar Disciplines.
Itemization Advice: Like most Builders, Technologists will focus on their Scrap Kit when deciding what to upgrade and/or maintain. Superior quality Kits are wonders of tech, able to achieve nigh magical feats with the new sciences.
Beyond the Kit, a Technologist is free to aim for whatever they wish. Combatants will upgrade weapons and armor, of course. However, some Technologists seek to build and maintain various workshops - if only to benefit the community as a whole… Also, Apex Labs and Bio Hatcheries make building certain high tech items far less costly.
